About Us

PAEAN – Peoples Alliance for Earth Action Now, is an initiative of Sacred Mountain Sangha. PAEAN is a spiritually-based inclusive initiative that will develop and support climate action groups within a global network. We are working for a just transition from ecological collapse to an equitable, thriving, sustainable world. PAEAN is open to all who align with our guidelines and values.

Vision

PAEAN launched after COP26 failed to sound extreme urgency in response to the planetary emergency of climate and biodiversity collapse. In response, our vision is for people from all walks of life to rise together, forming local working groups within a global climate alliance to forge a green, just, and inclusive world in symbiotic relationship with Nature’s sacred web of life.  

Mission

To support a shift from business as usual by normalizing a state of climate emergency and a culture that states science-based climate facts clearly. To energize direct action by citizens from all walks of life focused on personal, community, and systemic change. To build resilience while creating alliances with organizations and leading climate groups with the same aims.
