Count Us In

When asked to describe Don’t Look Up in a nutshell, DiCaprio called it “an analogy of modern day culture and our inability to hear and listen to scientific truth,” in a video he posted on Instagram. “There are some hard truths that these characters need to face, much like we do as a species on Earth.”

‘Don’t Look Up’ has partnered with Count Us In to empower viewers to take climate action. Count Us In, an organization working to build a community of people taking actions to reduce their environmental impacts. “We need to work together to end the climate crisis.” DiCaprio tweeted.

Introduction to Climate Activism ebook

This document was written and edited by climate activists and people new to climate activism. It’s being offered as a resource for anyone interested in learning more about the climate and ecological emergencies and/or interested in becoming a climate activist.

Everyone matters when faced with a crisis that demands significant change in daily life practices for individuals, businesses, and governments. Whether you’re a parent, doctor, artist, musician, writer, organizer, public speaker, there is space for you within the climate movement. There are action options for people who have ten minutes a month, a few hours a week, or can devote hours every day towards ensuring Earth remains safe and habitable for ourselves, our children, and all life on Earth.

Take Action From Home

Take action on the climate emergency for a few minutes every day, every week, or once a month from the comfort of your home. Whatever suits your schedule!

Over the winter months, taking action online offers an alternative or a supplement to protesting in the streets. Online action is also a good option for people who can't make it to in-person actions or who prefer to act from home.

Actions are broken down into:

  • Calling on governments, banks, insurance companies, investors, and businesses to take stronger action on climate emergency.

  • Contact news outlets

  • Climate Petitions

  • Take action in your daily life to reduce your carbon footprint and produce less waste
